Village Square News  OSUN STATE GOVERNMENT SUSPENDS  STATE INDEPENDENT ELECTORAL COMMISSION CHAIRMAN AND SIX COMMISSIONERS     The political drama in Osun state continues two days after the swearing in of new governor senator Ademola Adeleke Jackson Nurudeen as he directed the immediate suspension of the Chairman of the Osun State Independent Electoral Commission (OSIEC), Mr. Segun Oladitan and the six members of the Commission; they were : I. The village square reports  ADEMOLA ADELEKE BECOMES THE SIXTH EXECUTIVE GOVERNOR OF OSUN STATE *Reversed all appointments made by predecessor from July 7th 2022 *Frosen state accounts  *Renamed state to Osun state The oath of office was administered on the Governor by the State Chief Judge, Justice Oyebola Adepele-Ojo on Sunday at the Osogbo City Stadium, Osogbo. Earlier, Kola Adewusi, flanked by his wife was sworn in as the Deputy Governor of the state. They succeeded the Immediate Past Governor, Adegboyega Oyetola and his deputy Benedict Alabi who ruled between 2018-2022.Speaking after taking his oath, Governor Adeleke reversed the state from "State of Osun" to "Osun State". Adeleke reversed all appointments made by the immediate past governor, Adegboyega Oyetola, effective from July 7, 2022. LAGOS COMMUTERS GROANS AS COMMERICAL DRIVERS INCREASES FARES ARBITRARILY

Village Square Reports  INCESSANT TRANSPORT FARE INCREASE IN LAGOS  Lagos residents are on daily basis facing challenges as the cost of living is soaring higher than expected and means of sourcing daily bread is been fractured by the transporters with arbitrary increases in transport fares. During the surgent of covid-19 that transport fare was increased which was understandable by the people but since the battle was declared over by the government commercial drivers refused to revert to old fares but engaged in transport fare at will.  Investigation at some designated parks across Lagos revealed that drivers and touts at parks arbitrarily increase transport fares especially when there was traffic on any route, most times transport fares in Lagos skyrocket in the early rush hours and the evening when people leave for their homes.
