Enforcement of ban on commercial motocylist operations in some LG's and LCDA in Lagos state

LAGOS STATE GOVERNMENT INAUGURATES ANTI-OKADA SQUAD

Lagos state government has inaugurated an anti-okada squad to join Nigeria police in enforcing the ban on okada commercial activities in six local government and nine local council development areas to arrest both the rider and passengers on the affected major roads, bridges, and highways.

A statement released by the commissioner for transportation in Lagos state  Dr. Fredric Oladeinde on Tuesday  21st, June 2022 reads " the ban was in line with the transport sector reform law (TSRL 2018), and Lagos state government was set to reinforce the ban on commercial motorcycles in the six LGA"s and nine LCDA's.

Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, the commissioner emphasized that the anti-okada squad would be reporting to the police and appeal for the maximum corporation of the public to combat the menace of the okada commercial operators and report any nefarious activities of the squad to the ministry of transport through the following help/ complaint lines
