YAKUBU MAIKYAU ( SAN) EMERGES AS NIGERIA BAR ASSOCIATION PRESIDENT 
Yakubu Maikyau (SAN) is the new Nigeria Bar Association president . He  emerged winner of the Nigerian Bar Association presidential election held on July 16th ,2022.
 Electoral Committee of the Nigerian Bar Association (ECNBA) disclosed that 59,392 lawyers (highest ever) were accredited to vote in the election held on Saturday July 16,2022.

Maikyau (SAN) polled a total of 22,342 to Joe Gazama(SAN) who polled 10,842 votes, and Jonathan Taidi(SAN) 1,373 votes. 

The new NBA President was born on February 6, 1965 in Kebbi state. Maikyau (SAN) was called to the Nigerian bar on December 12, 1990, obtained a bachelor of law (LLB) degree from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, Kaduna state in 1989, and proceeded to the Nigerian Law School, Victoria Island, Lagos
