Lagos 2025: Ikosi-Isheri, Kosofe Youths Optimistic About Seyi Odufowokan's Emergence as Council Chairman
As the 2025 Local Government elections approach, youths in Ikosi-Isheri and Kosofe are throwing their weight behind Otunba Seyi Odufowokan, expressing optimism about his emergence as Council Chairman. The Kosofe Youth Alliance has described him as a well-educated, youth-friendly politician who truly understands the needs of the younger generation. Comrade Kayode Makinde, a representative of the Alliance, stated that Odufowokan is "one of them," with the vision and leadership qualities to move the area forward.
In a recent show of support, the Ikosi-Isheri Youth Vanguard, led by Coordinator Ishau Oladimeji, paid a solidarity visit to Odufowokan, pledging their readiness to back him across all the APC wards in the area. Oladimeji praised Odufowokan for his leadership during his tenure as Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ikosi-Isheri, which was marked by peaceful expansion and notable grassroots development.
Odufowokan’s influence, however, extends beyond Ikosi-Isheri, with his work having a significant impact on the APC's strength in Lagos State at large. His leadership has brought about unity and growth, which has made him stand out among his peers. The Ikosi-Isheri Youth Vanguard believes that his experience will help him lead the council to greater heights.
The Kosofe Youth Alliance expressed confidence that Odufowokan’s candidacy will bring fresh energy and ideas to the table. "He has the right blend of education, political acumen, and connection with the youth, which is why we trust him," Comrade Makinde said.
In response, Odufowokan expressed gratitude for the overwhelming support and reiterated his commitment to prioritizing youth empowerment, education, and infrastructure development. He noted that his administration would focus on providing more opportunities for the younger generation.
With strong backing from youth groups, Odufowokan’s candidacy continues to gain momentum, positioning him as a frontrunner for the Council Chairman seat in Kosofe/Ikosi-Isheri.
