2,000 APC Women in Oshodi-Isolo LG Endorse Ogundipe, Back Tinubu, Hamzat Ahead of 2027

The re-election ambition of Hon. Ogundipe Stephen Olukayode, representing Oshodi-Isolo Constituency I in the Lagos State House of Assembly, has gained renewed momentum following a major endorsement by over 2,000 women under the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oshodi-Isolo Local Government.

The women, drawn from various wards of Oshodi-Isolo LG and mobilised by grassroots leader Folarinwa Taibat, declared their unwavering support for Ogundipe’s second term, citing his “visible achievements, accessibility, and responsive representation” over the past four years.

Addressing the gathering, the convener urged women to take ownership of the political process and resist attempts to destabilise the party through imposition.

“This is the time for women to rise and defend the structure we helped build. We must not allow external forces to hijack our collective efforts,” she stated.

In a unanimous resolution, the women adopted Ogundipe as their preferred candidate, rejecting what they described as moves to impose “inexperienced and disconnected aspirants” on the constituency.

“Leadership must be rooted in service, not sentiment or sponsorship,” a representative declared.

The event took a dramatic turn with the arrival of APC chieftain, Musiliu Akinsanya (MC Oluomo), whose presence electrified the gathering. He acknowledged existing internal tensions within the party but emphasized unity as the pathway to victory.

In a strong political statement, MC Oluomo openly declared support for the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the emergence of  Kadir Obafemi Hamzat as Lagos State Governor, and the return of Hon. Ogundipe Stephen Olukayode ( Omojomolo) to the Lagos State House of Assembly for continuity of development and progress

“Take this message to them—we stand solidly behind the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Hamzat as Governor of Lagos State, and Ogundipe as our representative in the Assembly. In due course, we will communicate our position on the House of Representatives seat,” he said.

Reinforcing his stance, he added: “We may not have ammunition, but we have the people. Our strength lies in our unity and mass movement.”

Responding, Hon. Ogundipe—who also serves as Chairman, House Committee on Information, Strategy and Security—expressed gratitude for the endorsement and urged supporters to remain peaceful and disciplined.

“We are true democrats. Let us demonstrate maturity and avoid unnecessary confrontations. Our achievements are there for all to see and verify,” he said.

Highlighting ongoing developmental strides, including road projects within the constituency, Ogundipe reaffirmed his grassroots connection, noting the spontaneous reception he received during recent project inspections.

He dismissed allegations of artificial mobilization, stressing that his support base remains organic and deeply rooted in the community unlike aspirants who mobilised from other local government and foreign agents to create false impression . Oshodi people know ourselves.

The lawmaker also announced that he would soon formally declare his re-election bid, calling on party faithful and residents to join him as he takes his message of appreciation and continuity to the streets.

With the resounding endorsement from APC women and the strategic backing of influential stakeholders, political watchers believe Ogundipe’s re-election bid has gained a decisive edge in the Oshodi-Isolo Constituency I race.
